Zodiak Echo Delay and Reverb

What it does

A model of the 1974 tape echo and spring reverb combo, with three tape heads selectable in 11 combinations, each carrying its own pan, gain and rhythmic division. Repeat rate, intensity and echo volume sit alongside a clean or saturated preamp, host sync or free times up to a second, cuts at both ends and wow and flutter. The spring side has dwell, two types, tone controls, its own pan and a series or parallel switch. Amp hum and hiss dial in, and a vari-amp gates the reverb.

In the demo

Jade runs it on guitar, bass and drums in AUM, walking each control and using the input mute to hear the effect alone. She spends a long stretch on the four factory banks, then finishes on a blues session project.

Worth knowing

It is a single vintage unit rather than a general delay, so the character is fixed and the presets are much of what you are buying. It sits in a series alongside Zodiak Gemini.
