What it does
A tape echo with three virtual heads and a spring tank, recreating 1970s hardware. One selector steps through twelve combinations of heads and reverb, from a single slapback to a full dub echo. Left and right repeat rates run independently, linked, or locked to host tempo with an offset. Input drive pushes the tape, wow, flutter, inertia and hiss supply the wear, and bass and treble sit inside the feedback loop. The spring has its own decay, tone and width, with L/R, ping-pong and mid/side modes.
In the demo
Jade runs it in AUM across piano, drums, a pad and a live vocal, switching between the three panels before working through the head combinations. She pulls the echo out to hear the spring on its own, then pushes intensity until the repeats self-oscillate.
Worth knowing
It is an iPad release only, from the developer behind Cine Reverb. The factory presets arrive with tape noise already dialled in, so anyone after a clean digital repeat will be turning character down. A Mac version is sold from the developer’s site.
