WebSDR and Web Audio Player

What it does

Two separate plugins from the same developer, each a web browser running as an audio source inside a host. Web Audio Player opens any page and routes its audio into the mix, with shortcuts to Bandcamp, freesound.org and internet radio, so a sample can be used without downloading a file. WebSDR connects to a worldwide list of software defined radio receivers, with a station map and a tunable waterfall carrying sideband, AM and FM demodulation.

In the demo

Jade records a Bandcamp track and a freesound loop straight onto AUM tracks, shows that GarageBand will play but not record from the plugin, and works around that with inter-app audio. She then opens three WebSDR receivers and sends them through Beatcutter with a drum machine.

Worth knowing

Recording inside the plugin worked in AUM but not in GarageBand or Cubasis at the time. Because these are browser windows, audio stops when a window is closed, so instances have to be left open and shrunk down.
