WavePad Music and Audio Editor

What it does

A single-track waveform editor for iPhone and iPad, destructive rather than multitrack, with open files held in tabs across the top. Alongside cut, copy, paste, trim, reverse and insert silence, it splits at the cursor, at silences or into equal parts, and joins again. Cleanup covers noise removal, click and pop removal, a de-esser, noise gate, filters and DC offset. There is a compressor with a sidechain EQ, a graphic and parametric EQ, fades and crossfades, pitch and speed, echo, reverb, chorus and a savable effects chain. Export runs to WAV, AIFF, MP3, FLAC, M4A, OGG and M4R, up to 192 kHz and 32 bit.

In the demo

Jade opens one of her own tracks from Audio Share, duplicates it into a second tab, and works through the ribbon tabs in order. She records a noisy voice clip and runs noise removal on it, previewing the before and after.

Worth knowing

The download is free, but an ad sits in the middle of the editor until it is unlocked in app. Jade also found a separately sold Masters Edition listing and no difference from the unlocked free version. Undo stops at 32 steps.
