Wavebox Audio Editor

What it does

A standalone waveform editor for iOS that opens and saves wav, mp3, m4a, flac and alac, with a bit rate choice on export. One file is open at a time, edited by selection: trim, paste, insert silence, normalize, reverse, resample, transpose, time stretch, mono and stereo conversion and fades with curve shapes. Installed AUv3 plugins are listed by developer and printed into the file, with undo. It also pulls the audio out of a video.

In the demo

Jade demonstrates it as a free download, which it no longer is. She loops and trims a blues jam, splits it into regions, drops it an octave and then lifts it, stacks fades with different curves and then shows why the selection has to come first, prints an Eventide plugin into the track and undoes it, and exports an mp3 to AudioShare. She also pulls the audio from one of her own video clips.

Worth knowing

Anything open is lost on quit unless it is saved into the internal gallery first. In the demo the record button does nothing on her iPad, several plugins fail to load, and the plugin window is too narrow for some interfaces.
