VocaLive

What it does

A vocal processor with a four slot effects chain, a preset library and a recorder. The pedal list holds two compressors, a delay, a reverb, two choruses, a phaser, a doubler, pitch correction, a morph, a choir, a parametric EQ and an envelope filter. Presets arrive in five sections and a custom category can be added. It is not an audio unit, so it reaches a DAW through Audiobus or Inter-App Audio. A free version, VocaLive CS, comes with one effect and sells the rest one at a time.

In the demo

Roughly the first seventeen minutes are a studio and vocal booth tour. From there Jade opens VocaLive through Audiobus into GarageBand and sings through the chorus, phaser, choir, pitch correction, morph and doubler presets, then records a take over a project in Auria Pro.

Worth knowing

Loading it inside GarageBand produced no signal for her, which is why Audiobus and then Auria Pro do the hosting. At the time of the demo it had gone two years without an update, and the store then listed iPhone and iPad as separate apps.
