Tonic FX

What it does

An effects rack built from cards. Modules are added with a tap and dragged into any order, grouped as drive, modulation, motion, time, dynamics and EQ, and vocal. Drive covers overdrive, distortion, amp models with cabinet, wavefolder, bitcrush, ring mod and lo-fi. Time holds a synced delay with ducking, granular and reverse, alongside reverb spaces with freeze. Vocal tools add a one knob voice channel, a doubler and a harmony with selectable intervals. Scenes A to F store snapshots of the whole chain and save with the patch. MIDI learn and host tempo sync are included.

In the demo

Jade starts from an init patch on a piano in AUM, builds up chorus, phaser, detune and a cathedral reverb, saves each state to a scene and morphs between them. She then moves to guitar, an organ through the rotary cabinet, and her own vocal through the doubler and harmonizer.

Worth knowing

It came from the developer behind Tonic Synth and is a separate purchase. Delay divisions step through on each tap rather than opening as a list, so reaching the far settings takes repeated taps.
