Vocal Cleaner

What it does

A front of chain vocal cleanup plugin with four stages: de-noise, de-esser, gate, and a high pass and low pass filter pair, each with a threshold slider and an amount dial, plus an overall mix blend and output. VU meters show what each stage is catching. Presets cover common starting points, including separate male and female de-esser settings, and custom ones save from the same panel.

In the demo

Jade runs it in AUM against a loud fan and a squeaking door, pushing each stage until her voice starts breaking up so the limits are audible. She then puts it in front of her EQ in LumaFusion on a city voiceover and compares the result with LumaFusion’s own voice isolation.

Worth knowing

It is built for subtle work, not heavy noise removal, and Jade is explicit that it will not rescue a badly recorded take. W.A. Production sells a separate desktop version.
