Vinyl Strip

What it does

A channel strip of six modules that can be dragged into any order, with the master module fixed at the end. The chain covers a compressor, a distortion switchable between odd and even harmonics, a vintage reverb with its own darkness and brightness, a tilt EQ, a bit crusher labelled sampler, and a vinylizer holding dust, noise, record age, wow and a stereo to mono collapse. A dust noise envelope ties the crackle to incoming transients instead of running constantly, and randomization respects per-knob locks.

In the demo

Jade runs it on the master bus of a multitrack project first, then isolates drums, piano and bass to hear each module on its own. She reorders the chain to show the compressor sounding different in front of and behind the distortion, and finishes in Logic.

Worth knowing

There are no in-app purchases and no song mode. The iOS build does not run on a Mac, so Mac users need AudioThing’s separate desktop version, which costs more.
