Tape Fiasco 2

What it does

A creative multi-effect built around four tempo-synced time engines, Stretch, Varispeed, Stutter and BendIt, feeding a reorderable chain drawn from 30 colour effects covering distortion, filters, resonators, pitch, modulation, delay, reverb, granular and dynamics. The Animate page holds four LFOs, random sources, envelope followers and two step sequencers, and the Perform page maps macros and an XY pad for live moves.

In the demo

Jade builds a session from two plain Piano Tech parts at 40 BPM, then walks the effect list one block at a time so each is audible. She shows the hold-to-assign modulation gesture, the randomisation ranges per dial, and finishes stacking presets over guitar and Wave Maker.

Worth knowing

It is iPad only, with a separately sold desktop build for Mac, Windows and Linux at around $29. The layout takes a sitting to learn, and anyone wanting a subtle tape warmer rather than a mangler will find this aimed elsewhere.
