What it does

A 16-track tape recorder that records straight to tape rather than into an arrangement. There are no waveforms and no undo: new takes overwrite what was there, and erase is the only way back. The desk adds a mixer, two buses, four sends, Audio Unit plugin slots, and tape calibration for wow, flutter, saturation, bias and age.

In the demo

Jade tours the desk and side panels, then plugs in a guitar, arms a track and plays a live take, using the ten second rewind as a lead-in. She layers a second guitar pass and Pop Drummer MIDI over it, and runs into a few bugs with arming and markers on the way.

Worth knowing

The free download keeps one saved tape. A $29.99 in-app purchase adds more tapes plus bounce and export. PFX slots print to tape, MFX slots stay editable later, and MIDI plugins without their own sound engine will not load.
