Auria Pro: File Browser Update

What it does

This episode covers one update to Auria Pro, the same single iPad purchase as the rest of the series. A file browser now replaces the separate load, save and import screens, reading projects, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, USB storage and other providers from one panel. Plugin lists are split into AUv3 effects, AUv3 MIDI effects and AUv3 instruments, and Inter-App Audio plugins can be hidden.

In the demo

Jade reads the release notes, then opens the browser: a side panel holding recents, projects, GOG and impulse files, presets, groove templates, Lyra instruments, backups and snapshots, with Show Contents listing a project’s own audio files. She adds two external drives as locations and loads a project off a Seagate, which copies to the iPad before opening. An audio file drags onto a track. A MIDI file does not.

Worth knowing

Import also works from Dropbox or the Files app with nothing connected. The new iPadOS toolbar items mostly lead back to settings, and the channel strip close button still ignores a mouse.
