Splat-to-Clat

What it does

A drum rompler with 12 pads across three pages, loaded from factory kits, chopped loops and a sample library that downloads after install, optionally to an external drive. Every pad has its own volume, pan, tuning, amp envelope, filter and mod wheel routing, plus five effect slots that can host installed AUv3s. Pads can be stacked on one MIDI note, routed to separate outputs, and each beat’s MIDI exported.

In the demo

Jade loads chops and kits, then opens one pad and works through its controls before loading AUv3s like Timeless into its effect slots. She builds a six way multi-out in AUM by routing pads to output pairs, then solves recording in GarageBand by exporting the kit’s MIDI file into the transfer folder.

Worth knowing

It crashed several times during the demo, and a fair amount of what it does is not in the manual. Recording it in GarageBand goes through that MIDI export rather than audio.
