What it does
An expansion pack for AudioModern’s Playbeat 4 drum sequencer, aimed at dark trap and underground rhythms. It carries 50 unlocked presets and more than 350 raw samples, and every preset can be reshuffled through Playbeat’s randomizing engine. It is sold on the AudioModern website, which covers desktop and iPad, or through the in-app pack browser on iPad.
In the demo
Jade shows the import route and the in-app store, then plays all 50 presets straight through, one bar each, inside Playbeat 4 in AUM. She finishes by randomizing pitch, pan, volume and sample choice on a preset and picking through the individual samples.
Worth knowing
Playbeat 4 is free to download but needs its own unlock ($19.99 on sale at the time, normally $29.99) before the pack does anything. Anyone not into trap or gritty hip hop textures will want a different expansion.
