Sparkverb

What it does

An algorithmic reverb whose decay splits into low, mid and high bands with crossovers, drawn as a colour display that can be dragged with a finger. Size, pre-delay, shape, modulation depth and rate, lo-fi, dark and bright, mix, roll off, width and low, medium and high density fill the rest of the panel. Freeze holds a tail while you keep playing over it, a long press on the size knob reveals parameter lock and MIDI learn, and the presets include a randomiser.

In the demo

Jade sends acoustic guitar, piano, drums and her own voice through it, opening on a hall preset and ending in the shimmer and sound design banks. She navigates mostly by the preset map, a zoomable layout where dragging between neighbouring presets blends them, and uses freeze on a held guitar note.

Worth knowing

It is a port of the desktop version. The interface starts flickering partway in and she clears it by reloading the project. Anyone after a plain room reverb should note how much of the demo sits in the effect and shimmer banks instead.
