BLEASS Spectral Reverb

What it does

A reverb that works across the frequency spectrum rather than as one tail. Attack reaches 6 seconds and decay 60, and under each sits a curve that drags into high pass, low pass or band shapes so different frequencies bloom and fade at different rates. Block size, hop factor and smoothing size move the engine from rich and clean to broken and granular. Four slots load a spectral gate, harmony follow, ducker, enhancer, pitch shifter or frequency shifter in any order, each with its own filter and mix.

In the demo

Jade works in AUM on a generated piano part at 70 BPM, walking the main controls before adding modules. She puts the pitch and frequency shifters on piano, harmony follow on a bass, then moves to drums for the gate and the ducker, where a hard duck cuts the tail out between hits.

Worth knowing

Parameters are exposed to the host, so external LFOs can drive the filters. Low block sizes are where the artefacts live, which is the point here rather than a transparent room. A Mac, Windows and Linux version is $39 from the developer’s site.
