What it does

A scratching effect that sits on incoming audio rather than playing files as a DJ deck would. A platter responds to dragging and flicking, fed by two supplied scratch samples, a sample you import, or a live buffer that records the last three seconds on a loop. A crossfader balances source against buffer, and an LFO with several shapes, sync and an offset can drive the platter instead of a finger.

In the demo

Jade scratches by hand first, then hands the platter to the LFO and lets it work on a generative sequence, a drum pattern and a piano line from the other Bud apps. She adds the filter and resonance, and sets the reverse saw shape against drums.

Worth knowing

Long imported samples barely move under a swipe, so short ones suit it. Going back to a built-in source drops your imported sample and it has to be loaded again.
