Room Reverb

What it does

A reverb in three blocks: an output stage with dry level and stereo width, an early reflections stage, and the late tail. Both of those stages get their own level, room size and damping, the damping set in hertz and working as a high cut. The tail adds wander and spin for modulation depth and rate, plus diffusion, pre-delay and decay. Presets run from small rooms to very large, with an effects folder holding a shimmer, and every control carries a padlock that keeps its value when a new preset loads.

Jade puts it on every track of a mixed AUM project, then strips back to one piano and pulls the dry out so each stage is audible alone. She locks values and hops presets to show what survives, builds a shimmer from the tail controls, and runs it on drums and vocals.

Worth knowing

Everything is algorithmic, so there are no impulse responses to load. The same reverb is free for Mac and Windows from the developer’s site.
