Reverie

What it does

A standalone soundscape generator. Drop in a sample, loop, song or field recording, pick from twenty-plus styles, set four sliders (variability, brightness, stretch, duration) and it renders a drone from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. Custom mode exposes the effect chain behind each preset, 37 modules across filter, spatial, spectral, modulation, pitch, distortion and dynamics, and seeds can be copied and pasted to reproduce a result.

In the demo

Jade feeds it a full band track, a piano recording, a 21-second synth note and an acoustic song, rendering a one-minute texture up to a 30-minute piece on the iPad. She opens a preset’s seed to add glitch, pitch drift and frequency shifter modules, then builds a chain from scratch.

Worth knowing

Exports are royalty-free. The free tier has six styles and shorter renders; the desktop version is a separate $19 intro purchase. Not AUv3, so it is a render tool rather than a live effect.
