What it does
An emulation of a 1970s tape echo unit, with three playback heads feeding a mode selector that combines them in twelve ways, two spring reverb tanks, and three modelled tape responses. Intensity sets the feedback and can be pushed to self oscillation. There is switchable bass and treble EQ, tape noise with an envelope option, wow and flutter, a preamp stage, stereo width and oversampling up to sixteen times.
In the demo
Jade opens with the echo on every instrument in a track, then strips back to an init patch and builds it up control by control. She sets each head volume and pan, syncs the repeat rate to tempo, and shows CPU load climbing from three per cent to thirty one as oversampling rises.
Worth knowing
High oversampling on several instances will tax an older iPad. A desktop version is sold separately by AudioThing.
