MP1 Pro

What it does

A guitar amp plugin modelled on the ADA MP1 rack preamp, with a tri-state voicing switch that moves between distortion tube, clean tube and solid state circuits. The front panel carries two overdrives, master gain, bass, mid, treble, presence, resonance and a power amp stage, and a second page holds the effects: delay, chorus and tremolo, reverb, filters aimed at down-tuned guitars, a noise gate and a compressor. A browser lists cabinets with microphones already placed, and A and B slots hold two tones for pedal switching.

In the demo

Jade opens it in AUM on a guitar she has just reset up, saves a tone into a folder of her own, then works across the panel and runs the factory presets. She swaps to a seven string to show the filters taking the rumble off a low B string, then writes a punk track in GarageBand with it, panning two guitar parts apart and putting a different Nembrini plugin on the bass.

Worth knowing

Custom impulse responses cannot be loaded here, so the supplied cabinets are what you get. Nembrini sells a desktop version from its own site, and that one does load IRs.
