Irio Pro

What it does

A modular effects canvas. Modules are dropped onto a canvas and cabled from any output to any input, including parallel paths and feedback, so a chain can be a pedalboard, a synth into a reverb, or a backing track into a looper. The free tier includes a NAM player with cab loading, drive, EQ, delay, reverb and a gate. Pro unlocks the rest of the module library, an engine builder with 40 plus DSP blocks, scenes and perform pads.

In the demo

Jade patches a metal rig from scratch with Tone3000 captures and her own cab IRs, then flips between A and B scenes from the pads. In AUM she runs the rotor delay and Irio Shift on piano, then the built-in synth.

Worth knowing

The synth and MIDI input only work standalone, not in the AUv3. Anyone wanting a preset-driven amp sim with a fixed signal path will spend more time cabling than playing. A later update reworked the interface, adding global tempo controls, a shortcuts row, multi-select and a catalog pane listing the cabs, drives and delays.
