What it does
OttavaBassa drops incoming guitar notes one octave in real time so a six-string can cover bass parts. Around the octaver sit input gain, a wet/dry mix, low and high EQ, overdrive, compression, stereo chorus and a cab sim, plus amp-voiced presets from clean DI to punk. Standalone or AUv3 on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
In the demo
Jade plays a clean electric in AUM over a drum loop, switches the octaver on, then steps through each control and preset. She stacks it in front of an Aurora DSP bass amp sim for a heavier tone, runs a mic through it for a death-growl gag, and loads it in Logic Pro.
Worth knowing
Built for clean single notes above low E, with roughly 25 ms of latency that is audible in the Logic section of the demo. Chords and slap are outside its design, so anyone wanting full bass voicings will need a different approach.
