Mammoth

What it does

A bass amp sim built around distorted and high gain tones. A single channel carries a drive pedal, a growl control and melt, brute and hot switches, with a blend knob that mixes the clean signal back under the dirt, low, mid and high tone controls and a choice of two interface inputs. Cabinet options cover 610, 412 and 810 along with a custom slot for loading your own impulse responses. It runs standalone or as an AUv3 plugin.

In the demo

Jade works through the animal-named presets on a bass tuned down to D, then pushes the drive to 20 with the growl up. She loads it as an AUv3 over a GarageBand bass line, tries it on a seven string electric guitar, and records a part into Auria Pro on a track from her own EP.

Worth knowing

There is no noise gate on board, so she puts a separate noise tool in front of it at the higher gain settings. It is voiced for heavy music and does not reach clean bass tones.
