MagicDelay

What it does

A spectral delay that gives each part of the frequency range its own delay time. Curves are drawn onto a spectrum where height picks the division, regular, dotted or triplet, from a bar down to the shortest values. Four colour-coded curves each hold a drawing and morph together through an XY pad, and invert, shift and skew all carry a stereo spread. Feedback comes as a standard control and an adaptive one that follows the spectral shape, alongside low and high cuts and a dry wet blend. Eight assignable LFOs move any parameter, and randomization runs at three strengths with per-parameter opt-outs.

In the demo

Jade draws curves from scratch over a simple pattern, solos each lane so it can be heard alone, then slides the XY pad to blend all four. She moves on to drum loops, switches the engine between its percussive, mixed and melodic modes, and finishes on a dry strummed guitar part.

Worth knowing

This behaves more like an instrument than a mix delay, so anyone wanting a plain echo will find far more here than they need. GSDSP sells a desktop edition separately from its own site.
