Laney Digbeth Bass Plugin

What it does

A model of the Laney Digbeth 500 watt bass head with a full rig built around it. A crossover splits the signal so the low end takes one path while mids and highs take another, which lets distortion sit on top without thinning the bottom. The chain holds an octaver, a compressor, two Laney distortion pedals plus an Aurora DSP one, the FET and tube preamp with a tilt EQ, three cabinets, four mics with custom impulse response loading, a graphic EQ and optimizer, two compressors, a maximizer, and a finishing EQ with a limiter. Each side of the crossover has its own noise gate and side chain.

In the demo

Jade runs it on the bass of a metal single of her own, first in the mix and then soloed with the plugin bypassed. She solos each side of the crossover, walks the chain from the pedals to the final limiter, and plays through the preset banks.

Worth knowing

It is aimed at heavy tones and has a lot of stages to set. A desktop version is sold separately from the Aurora DSP site.
