JMP Pro

What it does

A guitar amp plugin modelled on the Marshall JMP1 preamp, with four voiced channels, two overdriven and two clean, behind a modelled EL34 power stage carrying presence, volume and a power switch. The amp page holds gain, bass, mid and treble plus a browser of cabinets with microphones already placed, and a second page carries delay, modulation as chorus or tremolo, reverb, filters, a noise gate and a compressor. A and B slots hold two tones for footswitch changes.

In the demo

Jade runs it in AUM against an old drum app and plays the factory presets, from clean and chorused tones through to heavy chugging. She uses the single encoder to step the EQ bands, compares the two overdrives, saves a tone of her own, and then browses cabinets and microphone positions.

Worth knowing

The cabinets are supplied impulse responses and can be bypassed. This build is iPhone and iPad only, with Nembrini selling Mac and PC versions separately; Jade points at IDAM as the way to play through an iPad into a Mac.
