What it does
A MIDI keyboard where the pads are intervals rather than pitches. Pick a key and a scale, and a keypad of zero, plus one, plus two, minus one and so on moves through that scale from wherever the current note sits. Rows above and below add chord voicings an octave up or down, the keypad range is adjustable, and voicings can be saved as patterns and switched by MIDI CC. Notes can also be played from a hardware keyboard, one key per interval.
In the demo
Jade routes it to a piano in AUM to show it makes no sound of its own, then walks the keypad and builds voicings by hand. She hands the input over to ShiftBud and PolyBud so the generative apps drive it, and closes on a layered horror piece with three instances running at once.
Worth knowing
It outputs MIDI only, and Jade notes GarageBand will not host it. It suits people who think in steps and intervals more than in written chords.
