Hand Clapper

What it does

A drum synth dedicated to claps. A tone layer with its own gain and frequency sits under a sample source, switchable between 808, 909 and HC2 claps or anything in a custom library, and decay, reverb and gain shape the result. A repetitions control fires the same strike up to seven times at an adjustable rate, with a randomness amount over the spacing and a dice for whole-patch randomisation.

In the demo

Jade opens with several instances driven by Euclidean sequencers, then walks the controls one at a time on a single hit. She imports a snare from the Files app to show the source is not limited to claps, drops in a whole song file to see what happens, and locks individual parameters before randomising the rest.

Worth knowing

Samples with high frequency content suit it; a kick or a sub does very little here. Pitch does not track the keyboard, so every key plays the same clap. AudioThing sells a desktop version separately at $25.
