Fuzz Droid

What it does

A single-circuit fuzz built on the Moog CP3 modular mixer, with the original asymmetric curve and a smoother second curve from the same module. Drive runs plus or minus 36 dB into a headroom control that sets how hard the stage is pushed, and a bias knob offsets the waveform until the signal cuts out entirely. A smoothing function, a switchable pre or post high-pass and auto gain round it out.

In the demo

Jade runs it in AUM on a drum loop, a Moog-style bass and a pair of Scaler chords through FM Zone, with a limiter on every track. She contrasts the two circuit models, sweeps bias into breakup, then assigns an LFO to drive from the parameter list.

Worth knowing

This is one distortion voice rather than a multi-mode box, and it gets loud fast, so a limiter after it matters. The quality setting adds about ten percent DSP. A May 2025 update reworked the UI and added morph, a second parameter state you crossfade into on a slider, with latch and lefty modes and morph values assignable to individual controls. Relaunched in 2026 as version 2, linked here.
