What it does
An effect that slowly breaks audio down into something worn and corrupted. A core memory slider sets overall intensity, and a character slider blends analog decay (cassette, reel, VHS) with digital corruption (lo-fi, circuit, data mosh). Damage, fog, ghost, hiss, crackle and drift each add their own layer, and an evolve timer pushes everything toward silence over 1 to 30 minutes.
In the demo
Jade runs a worn piano loop through it in AUM, steps through every slider and type so each is heard alone, hits randomize a few times, then sets evolve to four minutes and lets a three-instrument project dissolve without commentary. She ties the whole thing to The Caretaker’s Everywhere at the End of Time.
Worth knowing
This is a texture and sound design tool, not a subtle tape emulation. Anyone after a gentle lo-fi warmth for a mix bus will find it goes much further than that.
