Exodus

What it does

An expansion pack for Audiomodern’s Playbeat 4, around 40 presets and 250 samples in roughly 340 MB, written by film and game composer Tobi Weiss. The material leans cinematic: hybrid electronic grooves, large percussive hits, reversed and crackling textures, ticking pulses and tonal elements like a raw cello. It drops into Playbeat’s own engine, so every preset stays open to randomisation, per-lane rates, pitch and density.

In the demo

Jade plays through the presets, then swaps sounds while keeping a pattern, locks the lanes she wants to keep, and pulls individual samples out as stems for use elsewhere. She also imports RustWave, a free Playbeat expansion from the Audiomodern site, and runs through its 20 presets.

Worth knowing

It needs Playbeat 4, which is a free download with a separate full unlock, so the pack price is not the whole cost. Expansions are bought in-app on iPad or downloaded from the site and imported.
