EG ClassicFX

What it does

An AUv3 effects rack carrying reverb, delay, flanger, filter, auto-wah, phaser, chorus and tremolo on one panel, each with a mix or gain knob along the bottom and a circle in the middle that holds two more parameters, size one way and width the other. An order button rearranges the chain the way you would reorder pedals. Controls take MIDI learn and automation, the filter and the rest respond to multi-touch, and each effect can be routed to its own output bus, eight of them. Presets are included. Jade demoed it as sEGments FX and the store now lists it as EG ClassicFX.

In the demo

Jade starts in GarageBand on a guitar track, then moves to AUM with a direct guitar, a live vocal and a synth. She splits the eight effects across eight buses and brings them up one at a time, and reports seven percent CPU with the plugin running.

Worth knowing

There is no distortion stage. Each effect stays bypassed until its mix value is raised, and loading a preset clears the bus assignments, which caught Jade out twice on camera.
