Doubler

What it does

A real time doubler that turns one performance into a double tracked stereo pair. A sensitivity knob sets the transient detector that drives the panning, a pitch knob adds slight detuning rather than pitch shifting, a mono control tightens the low end and pulls phase out from between the channels, and two shift knobs offset left and right in time. Factory presets cover guitar, bass synth, lead and doubled vocals, percussion loops, soft piano, synth leads, pads and sequencers.

In the demo

Jade runs electric guitar, bass, acoustic, drums and her own voice through it in AUM, taking each knob on its own, then moves into two of her own projects. She pulls the mono control off so the phasing is audible, shows how an EQ set up for other plugins fights it, and tracks a doubled vocal under a lead she has just sung.

Worth knowing

Jade treats it as deliberately subtle and puts it on backing parts rather than a lead vocal. It is not a pitch shifter, so anyone after harmonies needs something else. Nembrini sells a desktop version for Mac and PC from its own site.
