Combustor

What it does

A resonator effect built around a time bending resonating body. Controls cover tune, bend, resolution for bit crushing, a filter, input level and a feedback knob that lets the resonator keep ringing on its own. An envelope follower drives pitch or filter sweeps from the incoming signal, and MIDI input sets the resonator pitch so non-melodic sources can be played melodically.

In the demo

Jade runs it on drums, on Noises, on a piano line and on her own voice, showing that with the input at zero the feedback alone keeps producing sound. She drives the resonator pitch from a Euclidean sequencer over MIDI, stacks it with GlitchScaper and reverb, then confirms it in Logic.

Worth knowing

Output runs hot and can squeal, so she puts a limiter after it before starting. This is a transformation tool for noise and industrial work rather than anything subtle for a mix bus.
