What it does
A live-buffer granular effect for iPad, standalone and AUv3, that records whatever passes through it and replays grains from a four-bar playhead, so no samples are loaded. Eight modes (grain, mosaic, glide, reverie, bloom, tide, stars, orbit) change how grains behave, with pitch, jitter, stereo, reverse, smoothing and a tempo sync option on top.
In the demo
Jade runs it on a slow Pianoteq piano in AUM, working through the playhead controls, the eight modes and the two pitch modes. She then goes through the single-slot Magic effects (chorus, wide, drift, shimmer, spread, echo, swell), the dirt and reverb stages, and the factory presets.
Worth knowing
It is iPad only, and only one Magic effect can run at a time. It suits ambient beds and sound design more than subtle mix duties.
