BLEASS Granulizer

What it does

An AUv3 that chops incoming audio into grains and draws each one as a line across a retro-looking display. Grain size runs free or locked to the beat, and size, pan, volume, shape and tuning each carry a dice with an adjustable amount of randomisation, tuning quantised to octaves or chromatic steps. Density and offset set how many grains overlap, and one control slides the whole field from fully forward to fully reversed. A high and low pass filter and a dry and wet mix sit alongside, and four audio inputs can feed a single instance through AUM’s multi bus.

In the demo

Jade works it on imported piano and guitar files, on a GarageBand drummer track and an Alchemy part, then on a live condenser mic where the presets are easiest to hear on one held note. She closes by routing four AUM channels, three radio streams and a drum machine, into one instance at 11 percent system usage.

Worth knowing

Opened on its own it only plays imported WAV or M4A files, so it is built around being hosted. The randomisers drive most of it.
