AU3FX:Dub

What it does

A delay plugin from the developer of AUM and AudioShare, laid out as a bank of presets rather than a blank panel. Slapback, stereo, clean, bright, bass-weighted, multi-tap, tape, ping pong and vibrato delays each come in long, mid and short versions, alongside three choruses, flangers, random chorus, flanger and phaser settings, and bright and dark resonators. Delay time reaches 5,000 milliseconds, feedback runs long, and a tape noise button lays cassette hiss over whatever is loaded. Edited presets save under your own names. This is the AUv3 rebuild of Kymatica’s Inter-App Audio effects, released after AU3FX Space.

In the demo

Jade works it entirely from a microphone in AUM with MixBox brightening the input, running the full preset list on her voice to chase a Mike Patton sound. She then saves four edited presets, adds AU3FX Space for light reverb, and sings a Mr Bungle cover over a piano track.

Worth knowing

The tape noise is a fixed hiss layer Jade skips past. The older Inter-App Audio version she compares it to is a separate purchase at a higher price.
