Async Sampler

What it does

A sampler built around three loop slots that each run independently. A slot holds one sample and either follows host tempo or runs free at its own speed, playing forward, backward, back and forth, once, or scattered at random. Each has start and length handles, halve and double buttons, a crossfade when unsynced, pitch, pan, volume, high and low pass filters with resonance, and a drive. Underneath sit two assignable LFOs with shapes and offset, a reverb, a delay swappable for a ring modulator, a compressor with a dirty mode, and stereo width, tone and drive on the output. Anything can be MIDI learned and the map saved.

In the demo

Jade opens with three instances playing at once, then strips back to one, builds it up from the bundled library, and imports her own files. She assigns LFOs to a filter and to pitch, then routes it through a bus in Logic to record a live manipulation to an audio track.

Worth knowing

The loops drift against each other rather than being played from keys, so it suits collage, texture and soundscape work more than tight quantized parts.
