What it does

A convolution reverb carrying a large factory library of impulse responses taken from real spaces and from vintage hardware units, browsable by group, by device or by manufacturer, each one labelled with its reverb type and length. A panel behind the impulse adds input gain and noise, a gate that can be switched to ducking, bass and treble cuts with a crossover, length and tone, stereo width, modulation and pre-delay, so a sampled space can still be reshaped. Any wav file can be imported as the impulse, not only a real IR.

In the demo

Jade starts in the manual to show which hardware units are modelled, then runs presets on piano, acoustic and seven string electric guitar, a live condenser mic and drums. She imports a snare hit, an unfinished vocal and a noise file as impulses, and takes a detour to explain how a guitar cabinet IR differs from a reverb one.

Worth knowing

Convolution buys realism rather than deep parameter control, and browsing hundreds of impulses takes longer than turning three knobs. Her DSP sits at 39 with a full project loaded.
