What it does
A bass amp sim built on the same 200 watt Absylon amplifier as Aurora DSP’s guitar version, voiced for five string, six string and multiscale basses. Two channels, Brimstone and Moloch, sit behind a drive dial, a grind switch and an air, high, mid and bass stack. A noise gate, a tuner scaled for low strings, and two cabinet impulse responses, Serve and Obey, round it out, and your own IRs can be loaded.
In the demo
Jade solos a clean five string DI in Logic, then brings the amp in and walks each control. She plays live through it, then runs it on a track by her band FMC to show the skull dial adding harmonics under a soloed bass.
Worth knowing
The bass counterpart to Absylon, sold separately, aimed at metal and low tunings rather than clean or vintage tones. A Mac and Windows version is sold from the Aurora DSP site.
