What it does
An amp sim modelled on a 200 watt guitar and bass amplifier, aimed at eight-string and low-tuned playing. Two channels, Savage and Beast, share a drive control, a grind switch and an air, high, mid and bass tone stack. Around them sit a noise gate, a tuner scaled for extended-range instruments, and two cabinet impulse responses, Crush and Slay, blendable or switched off entirely.
In the demo
Jade tracks three panned guitars, bass and drums with it, playing a seven string because she has no eight string on hand. She moves through the tone stack and drive on the centre guitar, then compares the two IRs against the bypassed cabinet.
Worth knowing
There are no factory presets, so the starting point is the raw amp. It has one voice, a very heavy one, and nothing here reaches clean tones. A Mac and Windows version is sold at the Aurora DSP site, and Absylon Bass is a separate app built on the same amplifier for five and six string basses.
