What it does

A sample based instrument player from VirSyn, built by Harry Gohs around libraries recorded by KARO Sound Development. The download is free with a small factory set, and the rest is bought as packs from an in-app store covering orchestral strings, choirs, brass, pianos, bells, percussion and effects. A later pricing change replaced buying the 62 packs one at a time with a single Complete Access Pass that unlocks all of them. Three instrument slots stack, with a control that either morphs between them or layers them in, and each slot has its own level, pan and a page for octave, transpose, cutoff, resonance and reverb.

In the demo

Jade runs it standalone and then as an AUv3, builds layered sounds, saves them to the performance pads, and switches pads while holding a chord so the previous instrument sustains through the change. She MIDI learns the morph control to her mod wheel.

Worth knowing

The libraries run to roughly 25 GB, so space matters, although a later update allows them to sit on an external drive. Packs you own can be edited and saved back from VirSyn’s AudioLayer, a separate purchase.
