Wired

What it does

An expansion pack for AudioModern’s SoundBox sampler, built from vintage and modular analog synths run through tape and bit reduction. It holds 40 multi-layered presets across arps, basses, keys, leads, pads and synths, with pops, crackle and drift baked in; every preset opens up to its individual sounds for editing.

In the demo

Jade starts with a short AUM piece using three Wired instances alongside Scaler 3 and Playbeat 4, then loads a single SoundBox instance on iPad and plays through the presets from a keyboard, showing the pack file import route and how to edit a preset. The episode was sponsored by AudioModern.

Worth knowing

It needs SoundBox, which is free but unlocks its full feature set with the purchase of any official pack. The download is close to a gigabyte, and the tone is deliberately murky and lo-fi, so anyone wanting clean orchestral or symphonic sounds is looking at a different pack.
