What it does

A granular synthesiser that makes its sound from audio you import, cutting it into grains whose count, length and randomisation you set. Two ways to move through the file: an orbit that sweeps back and forth with adjustable speed, width and shape, and waveglide, which drops markers across the wave and jumps, fades or slides between them on set hold and transition times. Around that sit a waveform editor, an extra oscillator, filters, a resonator, effects, a modulation matrix and an MPE keyboard.

In the demo

Jade imports files into the audio pool and pastes several into one wave, sets the grain controls so each change is audible, then compares orbit against waveglide. She patches LFOs and envelopes through the matrix, maps aftertouch to the resonator and opens the same purchase on a Mac.

Worth knowing

You have to bring or record your own material, and the features spread over several screens. Anyone after quick presets rather than patch building will meet a lot of controls first.
