War of the Worlds

What it does

A sci-fi and horror pack for AudioModern’s SoundBox sampler, built as 25 combi presets layered from roughly 44 sound sources. The material runs to drones, atmospheres, glitches, scanners, laser blasts and mechanical noises named for scenes from the original War of the Worlds. A few presets spread one layer per octave across the keyboard, and the pack closes with an empty init patch preloaded with reverb and delay.

In the demo

Jade opens with four SoundBox instances triggered by a Bounce Bud ball simulation, then imports the pack through User Sounds and plays each preset in turn. Most get a little release added first, since they stop the instant a key lifts.

Worth knowing

The presets are combis rather than single sounds, and the individual layers sit in the wider sound list under a DTC prefix. Anyone after conventional playable instruments rather than sci-fi ambience and effects is in the wrong pack.
