What it does

An AudioModern expansion for its SoundBox sampler built from female vocal performances by Anvia, Ffion Elisa, Joanna Lero, Timbre Cierpke and Nacre. It holds 33 key-labelled phrase presets, five drone and pad presets and three spoken word categories. Each phrase preset spreads recorded phrases across the keyboard, and they differ from key to key rather than being one phrase transposed.

In the demo

Jade opens with the phrases layered over a track, covers the two purchase routes, and imports the WAV pack on iPad. She plays through the vocalists in their minor keys, plays chords on the choral pads, and runs the English, MU and Welsh spoken word presets over the same track.

Worth knowing

Phrases are fixed recordings, so this suits scoring, ambient and electronic layering rather than writing your own melodies. Buying on the AudioModern site does not unlock SoundBox on iPad; that needs one in-app pack purchase.
