Vocal Pop Chops & Kits

What it does

An expansion pack for Loopmix, AudioModern’s loop remixer, built around vocal chops with kits and synth parts alongside, aimed at pop. It is bought from the expansions area of the AudioModern site, arrives as a zip and goes in through Import Pack. Its sets then sit with the factory ones, each showing the key it was built in, and run through Loopmix’s engine for randomising, locking and remixing from the keyboard.

In the demo

Jade imports the pack in standalone, plays a piece she made with it, then pulls single loops from this pack in next to beats from others and randomises the lot. She switches lanes from mono to poly so they overlap, adds a synth part in the key the set reports, and finishes by running Loopmix in Logic Pro on iPad and recording it to an audio track through a bus.

Worth knowing

Loopmix is a separate purchase, and this pack comes from the AudioModern site rather than the App Store. Sets sit in different keys and tempos, which is the point of the remixing but does mean pitched parts can collide.
