Viola-Moto

What it does

A viola sample library for AudioModern’s SoundBox, built entirely from short notes. Two articulations are included, a crisp spiccato and a softer brushed short, each captured as the last note of a played phrase with true up-bow and down-bow round robins. It ships in WAV and smaller flat versions for SoundBox on iPad, Mac, Windows and Linux.

In the demo

Jade opens with a three-instance arrangement alongside Bunker’s cello pack, then imports the library and plays each articulation dry and with SoundBox’s reverb. Most of the video is on the arpeggiator: two arps at different rates on a held chord, then a custom pack layering both sounds with randomized patterns and the vector page alternating between them.

Worth knowing

No sustained or legato articulations are included; it is built for rhythmic, arp-driven parts. SoundBox is a free download, and on iPad any pack purchase unlocks custom-pack creation.
