What it does
A standalone mastering app built around a reference workflow. A mix loads at the top, an optional reference loads beneath it, and the two can be looped over the same passage and switched between, with a readout of the difference. The chain holds a three band EQ where dragging sets gain and width, pre-normalization, a wave shaper with five characters from analog to fuzzy, three compression bands with ratio, knee, attack, release and a mono to wide control, a master compressor over all three, then a clipper or limiter with a ceiling. Metering switches between RMS and LUFS, and export offers bit depths and dither.
In the demo
Jade masters a track from an album she already finished elsewhere, so her own master can be held against it. She loads one of Pete Johns’s songs as the reference, works down the chain, saves a preset, then exports and checks the file in an audio editor and against an online loudness check.
Worth knowing
It is standalone rather than AUv3, which the developer puts down to code being prepared for desktop. Controls sit small on screen, and mouse clicks were not working on the day.
